The easiest and quickest way to get to Lisbon is by plane. If your departure city is the French capital, you will arrive in Lisbon in 2 hours 30 min. The Humberto Delgado Airport, also known as Portela Airport, is located in Olivas, about 7 kilometres from the centre of Lisbon and is easily accessible.
By metro: The “airport” station, the terminus of the red line, is located next to the arrival gate. This is the fastest and cheapest option for families to get to the city centre, only 1.40€ per ticket (free for children under 4 years old) and you reach the city centre in less than 15 minutes.
By bus: you can take the public buses of Lisbon: the n°44 bus links the airport to the city centre in 30 minutes and costs 1,80€ per person.
By taxi: private transport is much cheaper compared to the same service in France. The journey from the airport to the city centre costs less than 15€.
Coming by train to Lisbon
If you come to Lisbon from France or Spain, the train is an affordable alternative, especially if you benefit from a large family discount or a discount linked to the young age of your child. The 1,500 kilometres between Paris and Lisbon is a 20-hour journey. The adventure begins at Gare Montparnasse station in Paris and ends at Santa Apolonia station in the heart of Lisbon.
