Don’t confuse Annecy with the district of Annecy Le Vieux, which is the town centre. To stay in Annecy, this area is perfect! It is a meeting place with urban charm and a unique atmosphere, with beautiful historic buildings, canals and the Tiu river leading to the lake. During your stay in Annecy, you can enjoy a stroll along the canal or the lake shore in the Parc de l’Europe and on the Pont des Amours. If you decide to stay in Old Annecy, a romantic world awaits you! In the area you will find many charming little restaurants, Sunday morning markets and bars to keep you entertained after dark.

You can also stay in the Balmettes district, close to the city centre, which is an ideal place to stay in Annecy. From Les Balmettes, a short walk will take you to the attractions of the city centre. Nearby, you can visit the animation film museum, or take a walk along the shores of Lake Annecy: from the second visit of the monastery to the La Puia district, opposite the Marquise beach. The latter is an ideal place to rest and sunbathe by the water in summer.

In order to stay in Annecy at a more affordable price, we recommend that you prefer a remote area close to the city centre: Cran-Gevrier, especially where the Thiou river passes and some charming restaurants, is one of the best areas of Annecy. You can also stay in the nearby Carillon district, which is slightly set back. If you come by car, these two areas are ideal for accommodation in Annecy. However, they are far from the city centre (20-30 minutes on foot).
